The biggest South American competition is approaching its return and some questions are still being defined for better execution. Some countries like Paraguay, Ecuador and Venezuela approve protocols for the return of the Libertadores and Copa Sudamericana.

The protocols approved by these countries were presented by Conmebol and are related to the sanitary concentration in their territories, with the aim of safely returning both competitions.

The protocols for the return of the Libertadores are some specific and detailed measures, aimed directly at protecting the health of everyone involved in the competitions. In addition, they are similar to those used in Paraguay, Uruguay and Brazil, in their national competitions that have already returned.

There was strong speculation about Conmebol changing the format of its competitions, similar to the Champions League. However, there will be no changes in the formats of Conmebol competitions. It will continue with playoff matches, having the grand final in a single game.

The Copa Libertadores de América returns on September 15th, while the Copa Sudamericana is scheduled for October 27th. All games will be without the presence of an audience, following medical recommendations.
