This tournament will be held in the capital of France, Paris, between September and October. It is recalled that the event was postponed, at the time of the revelation of COVID-19 to be declared a pandemic. The organization has already been given the green light by the country's health organizations to officially begin the tournament at the end of September, starting first hand, the qualifying tournament.

In partnership with the French government, the organization of this event is very optimistic about the conditions the project has for the reception of tennis players for the court and their accommodation. Fulfilling its historic role as a Grand Slam of the clay-court, there will be some measures that may surprise the fans and also the tennis players who will compete, these measures are:

- Players who have a private home near Paris will be prohibited the stadium-home path, and the use of the hotel associated with the event will be compulsory;

- It is the first tennis event open to the public after the appearance of the new coronavirus, so the capacity will be divided into 3 areas: the Phillipe Chatrier and Suzzane Lenglen courts will have a capacity of 5000 people and the Mathieu court will have a maximum capacity of 1500 people.

- During the frequency of this event, it should be made clear that the use of masks will be completely mandatory;

- The first phase, which is the qualifying tournament, will be played behind closed doors.

The organization of the RG 2020 has shown itself to be clearly objective that there will be no exceptions when it comes to the use of private homes during the competition, a situation which has shown some displeasure to some players, notably the current No.1, Novak Djokovic who, in turn, during the US Open competition used the private home as a valid resource for his performance in the competition.

Opinion of the Academy of Betting:

Being open to the public with a mask can be a positive indicator of the history that the tournament brings with it: decades of high quality matches only exist with the support of the public. And this only shows that the organization is concerned about having an organized tournament, promising and full of surprises.

Given the type of surface, dirt, which is a fast surface and could give advantage to players who show a better capacity for decision and above all physical and psychological ability to respond to those emotions that the public offers.

The winner of the last 3 editions, Rafael Nadal will again defend the title if he so wishes, remember that Nadal did not participate in the US Open due to the situation of COVID-19. On the ladies' side, with great sadness before the social networks, Ashleigh Barty communicated that she will not participate in the edition of the RG 2020, derived from the current situation of COVID-19 and also did not want to risk her health by taking advantage of her "punctual difference" with Simona Halep.
